The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria has said there is no known law in Nigeria which prohibits self defence in the face of attack. However, the body called for restraints in the face of aggression, saying that the "nation will be in chaos if we all don’t exercise restraint." The National President of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Dr. Felix Omobude, spoke at a press conference to address national issues and announce the biennal conference of the body expected to hold between February 17 and 19. Omobude, who called on the security agencies to be alive to their responsibility, said communities might be forced to defend themselves against aggression. Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have abducted the immediate past transition committee chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State. Chief Friday Akpoyibo was abducted alongside two others. Sources close to Akpoyibo disclosed to journalists on Monday in Ughelli that he and two others were kidnapped along Auchi-Abuja road on Sunday on their way to Abuja. A younger brother and another close ally who were traveling with him were also abducted by the arms-wielding herdsmen who allegedly blocked the expressway with their cattle. A lady who was said to have been traveling with the victims was left behind by the abductors.  While speaking strict condition of anonymity, Akpoyibo’s ex-aide said; “He was going to Abuja to attend the inauguration of the recently appointed executives of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority when the hoodlums struck. There is confusion at Oke Baale area of Osogbo, the Osun State capital as some policemen allegedly opened fire on some students of the Osun State University while playing football on Saturday morning. Our correspondent gathered that those two students were hit by the bullets. One of them identified as Abiola Kazeem, was said to have been hit on the stomach and was rejected at two hospitals before he was taken to LAUTECH Teaching Hospital Osogbo where he is now being treatment. The other victim, Ibrahim , was said to have been hit by the bullet in the mouth. He is currently receiving treatment at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital at Jolayemi area of Osogbo. Some students living in the area told our correspondent that the policemen came to the football pitch and started shouting Yahoo boys, Yahoo boys and thereafter opened fire of the students. Several social issues disappeared from the WhiteHouse.gov site Friday, including a page dedicated to LGBT rights. A report on the Labor Department’s website on LGBT workers rights was also removed. Advocates for the LGBT community have worried about what a Trump administration would mean for the progress made on equality issues under President Obama. As a candidate, President Trump said he is opposed to same-sex marriage and Vice President Pence has taken strong anti-gay rights stances throughout his political career.
